We Specialize in Decks.
Just Decks.
Waco Deck Repair is a local, family-owned business focused entirely on deck repair and restoration. We don’t do roofing, painting, or general contracting on the side. Decks are what we do every day, which is why we’re good at them and why homeowners across the Waco area call us when something goes wrong with their outdoor structure.

A Local Business Built Around One Thing
Waco Deck Repair is a family-owned company that does one thing: deck repair and restoration. We didn’t arrive at deck repair through a franchise model or a general contracting business that added decks as a line item. This is what we set out to do. We focus on it exclusively because we believe that focusing produces better results than doing a little bit of everything.
That focus shows up in the quality of our assessments, the accuracy of our estimates, and the way we approach a project once we’re on site. We’ve seen the kinds of problems that develop on decks in central Texas — the UV damage, the ledger board failures, the post rot that stays hidden until it’s a real problem — because we look at these structures every week. When we come out to assess your deck, we’re not guessing at what we’re looking at.
We work on residential and commercial properties throughout Waco and McLennan County. Every job we take follows the same process: free assessment, honest estimate, work done as quoted, full cleanup before we leave. That consistency is something we’re deliberate about — it’s how a small company builds a reputation worth having.
The Principles We Actually Follow
These aren’t marketing claims — they’re the specific ways we handle every job. If we ever fall short of them, we want to know about it.
The Estimate Is the Price
What we quote before the job is what goes on the invoice after the job. If something unexpected comes up mid-project that affects the scope, we stop and talk to you before proceeding. No additions without your approval, ever.
We Recommend What’s Needed
If a deck needs two boards replaced and a cleaning, that’s what we recommend. We don’t inflate scope to make a job worth our time. A small repair done honestly leads to a second call and a referral. An inflated repair leads to neither.
Cleanup Is Part of the Job
We don’t consider a job done until the site is clean. Old boards, sawdust, packaging, removed hardware — all of it cleared before we leave. We do a walkthrough with you at the end so you can see the completed work before we go.
We Show Up When We Said We Would
We schedule a job and we arrive. If something changes on our end — weather, an overrun on another project — we call you in advance. We don’t leave you waiting and wondering where the crew is.
You Deal With Us Directly
When you call, you reach us. When our crew shows up at your property, it’s our crew — not a subcontractor we’ve handed the job to. There’s no game of telephone between you and the people doing the work.
Local Means Local
We’re based in Waco. We live here, we work here, and we care about the reputation we build here. A company that’s passing through doesn’t have the same stake in doing the job right that a company with roots in the community does.
Before & After
Repair and Restoration — Not New Construction
We’re a repair and restoration company. We don’t build new decks from scratch. What we do is take decks that already exist — in whatever condition they’re in — and bring them back to good condition. That’s a different skill set from new construction, and it’s one we’ve deliberately developed.
Repair work requires a different kind of assessment than new construction. You’re working with an existing structure that has a history — previous repairs, materials that may have changed over time, damage that’s been developing gradually and may be further along in some places than others. Understanding what you’re actually dealing with before committing to a scope is what separates a good repair job from one that misses the real problem.
Our services cover everything that happens to a deck over its life: board replacement when the surface deteriorates, structural repair when framing is compromised, railing work when posts work loose or rails fail, cleaning when mold and weathering take over the surface, and refinishing when the finish that was protecting the wood has worn out. We also do full restoration projects when a deck needs comprehensive attention across multiple areas simultaneously.
Residential and Commercial Properties
We work on decks across the full range of property types in the Waco area.
Homeowners
Most of our work is residential. Homeowners who’ve noticed a problem with their deck, homeowners preparing to sell a property, and homeowners who’ve been putting off maintenance and want to get their outdoor space back to good condition. We handle the full range — from a quick targeted repair to a comprehensive restoration that brings a neglected deck back to life. The process is the same regardless of the scope: free assessment, written estimate, work done as scoped, full cleanup.
Commercial Property Owners and Managers
We work on restaurant and bar patios, hotel outdoor areas, apartment and multi-family community decks, retail outdoor spaces, and similar commercial structures throughout the Waco area. Commercial decks see heavier foot traffic and often need to meet a higher durability standard than residential decks. We approach commercial projects with that in mind — assessing for high-use durability, working efficiently to minimize business disruption, and communicating clearly with the property manager or owner throughout the project.
Why We Built a Business Around Repair
Most trades companies in the Waco area are generalists. They do a little framing, a little roofing, a little decking, some fence work — whatever comes in. That model works fine for a lot of things. For deck repair specifically, we don’t think it produces the best outcomes.
Deck repair is diagnosis-heavy. The problems aren’t always what they look like on the surface. A deck that looks rough from a distance might have completely sound framing. A deck that looks fine visually might have a ledger board that’s been quietly failing for two seasons. Getting the assessment right is the most important part of the job, and it requires pattern recognition that comes from seeing a lot of decks.
We see a lot of decks. That’s the core of what we do, and it shows up in every part of how we operate — the quality of the assessment, the accuracy of the estimate, and the relevance of what we actually recommend. When we tell a homeowner that their deck doesn’t need to be replaced, it’s because we’ve looked at enough decks to know when repair is the right answer versus when it isn’t. And when we tell someone the framing is beyond reasonable repair, that’s also coming from a real understanding of the situation, not a default toward the more expensive option.
Repair as the Responsible Choice
There’s also a practical sustainability argument for repair over replacement when repair is viable. A deck that gets torn out and rebuilt generates a significant amount of waste lumber, most of which ends up in landfill. The new deck requires new materials — new lumber, new hardware, new fasteners — all of which have their own resource and production footprint. A deck that gets thoughtfully repaired and properly refinished uses a fraction of those resources while achieving an outcome that can perform comparably for years.
That’s not a primary selling point — people hire us because the price is right and the work is done well. But it’s a real consideration in how we think about what we do and why we do it the way we do.
A Note on Transparency
We’re a small local business, and our reputation in Waco is the thing that keeps us working. We don’t have a national brand to hide behind if a job goes badly or an estimate turns out to be dishonest. Everything we do reflects directly on us — which is a significant motivator to do things right the first time, to be straight about scope, and to follow through on what we said we’d do.
If you have a deck that needs attention, reach out and we’ll come take a look. The assessment costs nothing and gives you real information to make a real decision. That’s how we start every relationship with a customer, and it’s how we’d like to start one with you.
The Best Way to Know What Your Deck Needs Is to Have Someone Look at It
We come out to your property, walk the deck with you, and give you a written estimate at no charge. If you decide not to move forward, you’re no worse off than before — just better informed. That’s the whole pitch.
